Developer Lorenzo Doumani will start work on the Majestic Las Vegas Hotel in July. It will come up at the site of the Clarion hotel that was razed in 2015. The Majestic is expected to complete in 2024 at an expected cost of $850 million.

The Majestic Las Vegas

This 620-foot-tall property is located just two blocks from The Strip and close to the Las Vegas Convention Center. It houses 720 rooms but lacks a gaming floor. It would have a medical spa instead. Doumani plans make 35 corporate suites with each suite valuing from $10 million to $100 million.

Located on the top floors, the suites will be used for convention or showrooms. Depending on size, a suite will cover a quarter of a floor, half of a floor, or a full floor. Designed by architect Paul Steelman, each suite of Majestic features 16-foot high ceilings and promises breathtaking views of Las Vegas skyline.

Doumani is of the view that the suites will appeal the business travelers that are afraid in going into crowded places in this pandemic time. In his opinion, people are wary of visiting large spaces where they have the risk of getting infected with virus.

Health focus

The Majestic Las Vegas will feature a 70,000-square-foot medical spa with fitness and nutritional services for health-conscious folks. And it includes yoga, spinning and consultant nutritionists and physicians for the visiting guests. It is certainly going to be a state-of-the-art health facility in Las Vegas.

The pandemic hit the Las Vegas economy by reducing the flow of tourists and business travelers. The Las Vegas human traffic plunged by 55% in the first nine months of 2020. It also delayed the Majestic hotel project by one and a half years.

Governor Steve Sisolak (D) set 25% occupancy limit on bars, restaurants and gaming floors late last year and this limit is expected to remain at place till January 15. Last year, many hotels shut their shops in the middle of the year due to dropping profit due to pandemic.

Doumani family business

The Majestic Las Vegas Hotel isn’t the only property the Doumani family holds as it has operated the El Morocco and La Concha Motels. Also, father of Lorenzo Doumani was a former business partner in the Golden Nugget owned by Steve Wynn. Lorenzo Doumani made a statement regarding the Majestic by saying that travelers would be happy to be at a place that is non-gaming.
