Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) surprised everyone with their victory over their hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR) yesterday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and invited LSG to bat first. At that time it was a wise decision but little did the hosts know that they would be beaten by LSG bowlers.
LSG Batted First
Lucknow Super Giants could accumulate only 154 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. For LSG, Kyle Mayers scored the highest 51 runs off 42 balls. He scored 4 boundaries and 3 sixes but the half-century was too slow to give any fillip to the LSG score. The second big scorer was the skipper KL Rahul. He made 39 runs off 32 deliveries.
RR Bowling Line
For RR, Ravichandran Ashwin took the highest 2 wickets in 4 overs and conceded only 32 runs. Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, and Jason Holder took 1 wicket each. It proved that the pitch was supporting bowlers and that LSG bowlers could also do magic for their team. RR batsmen should be careful while facing an LSG bowling attack.
RR Missed The Chase
In the second half, the opening batsmen of Rajasthan Royals put 84 runs for the first wicket. They made 84 off 75 deliveries and hit 8 boundaries and 3 sixes. Also, they were the highest scorer for RR. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 44 off 35 deliveries and Jos Butler scored 40 off 41 deliveries. This score gave RR hope but suddenly everything changed. Marcus Stoinis of LSG dismissed Yashasvi in the eleventh over. After the loss of Yashasvi, the RR team stumbled like a house of cards. LSG bowlers restricted RR batsmen to 144 runs and won the match by 10 runs.

Who Was The Player Of The Match?

What Went Wrong With LSG?
LSG players started well but failed to give a tough score to the hosts RR. Kyle Mayers scored a half-century but the runs came too slow to put any pressure on RR bowlers. Commentators were also saying that LSG failed to bring RR bowlers under pressure and it cost them dearly at the end.
Did RR Team Know About The Pitch?

RR was the host and since they did well in bowling, it can be said that they had prior information about the pitch. They knew that the pitch would support their bowlers. But they failed in cricket batting and gave up their chase much before the last over was bowled.Β
