Lucky enough, just right on Christmas Eve, a lucky lotto player in the heart of Castleisland bagged home some cash after he scooped €1 million in Co. Kerry lotto in Wednesday draw.

It happens to be the second big win in Co. Kerry during the space of just five days when an online player in Castleisland won €250,000 last Saturday draws, precisely 19th December.

The tickets for the draws were on sale at the Whyte’s Centra store in Castleisland. All Lotto players in Castleisland were urged to check if there had a winning ticket and were Ireland’s 2020 lottery millionaire.

Co. Kerry recorded many massive wins this festive period, with one of their latest Lotto wins was also on 5th December, where a player won €235,196 in the Lotto Match 5+ bonus draw.

When Jim Healy heard about the Whyte’s Centra store Lotto luck, he was overjoyed. He has been the manager of the store for the past seven years.

“I was amazed when I heard we won the Lotto draw ourselves,” Jim said.

“This festive period has been quite fantastic in Castleisland, and you can count on it that a family in Castleisland will have a fabulous Christmas.”

“We are delighted one customer just became a millionaire this close to Christmas after a visit to our store.” He added.

The Whyte’s Centra store is located at the center of Castleisland, and our trade here is almost 100% local, Jim said.

Although no player could claim the €4 054 148 jackpot, a player did come close to winning the prize money with €1 million.

The National Lottery spokesperson commented, “The Lotto draw we had produced two lucky players from Co in the past few days from Kerry and Offaly, which should give them the Christmas of a lifetime.”
